Welcome to Indiana Academy

Indiana Academy is a Christian, private high school dedicated not only to the academic development of the mind and body, but also the soul.  Owned and managed by the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Indiana Academy is one of 50+ similar academies in United States and Canada and is under the direction of the Department of Education.  Students from surrounding states and several international countries attend this boarding academy for grades nine through twelve.  Class sizes are small with focused attention from our dedicated teachers and staff.  Indiana Academy has a graduation rate of over 95% and most of our graduates continue on to complete a college degree.  All academy students are encouraged to learn practical work skills and many work opportunities are offered, both on campus and off.  Our primary focus is to prepare our students for service in this world, and in the world to come.  We believe that the work of education and the work of redemption are one.

Testimonials

I can honestly say that the students at IA are some of the friendliest and
respectful that I've seen anywhere and that the IA campus is one of the most spiritual academy campuses I've been on.

Repeatedly I am touched by some interaction of human compassion. I love observing and sometimes facilitating the kid's as they experience life's joys and sorrows and learn that God is their answer. I am blessed to work at IA!

At this school, God has chosen people who deeply and sincerely care about you, they want you to do well, they want you to succeed.....they want to see you in heaven. And so they are doing the work God has assigned them to do...and that is to prepare us for the kingdom of God. I am extremely thankful that I have had this opportunity to come to IA

Important Changes at IA - Monday, July 12, 2010

The girls at Indiana Academy will be required to wear a school-approved polo shirt to classes in the upcoming school year.  Please click the link below for more information about the designated shirt. Please note that no other shirts may be substituted for classroom attire.  Please remember to refer to the sizing chart when ordering shirts.  A note about the sizing chart:  the chest size measurements reflected in the chart is the number of inches from seam to seam, not the full measurement.  Effectively the number listed needs to be doubled to equal a regular body measurement. To order the new girls polo shirts please click on the following link: Order Girl's Polo Shirts. Please see the new IA Dress Code Guide for more details.  Click here to view.

New Principal at IA - Monday, July 12, 2010

New Principal For IAMr. Jeremy Hall will serve as our new principal here at IA.  Mr. Hall has been head boy’s dean, then chaplain, at Great Lakes Adventist Academy (in Michigan) since 2000.  His passion is to see young people become connected with Jesus, as is reflected in his own words:  "My main goal is to show our young people how important and powerful a personal relationship with Jesus is. I want to show them that a day to day walk with Christ is something incredible and rewarding right now!”  In his free time, he loves to spend time with his wife, Donna, and daughters Olivia, Sofia, and Maia.  The Hall family will be moving to campus in early July.

Stan Detweiler Will Be The Head Boy's Dean - Monday, July 12, 2010

We are so glad that Mr. Stan Detweiler has accepted the position of Head Dean in the boy’s dorm.  Dean Detweiler has taught and served as part of the school administrative team for the past two years, and has previous deaning experience at both the academy and college levels.  We look forward to his gentle and Christ-focused leadership among the young men of our school.

Matt Minikus and his wife, Josie, have accepted a call to join the team at A.R.I.S.E. in California.  While assisting with the evangelism institute, they will also be able to pursue their music ministry.  Dean Bernard and his family will also be moving to California, as he has accepted the position of Vice-Principal at Weimar Academy.  Both of these godly men will be missed here at Indiana Academy.

Business Office Changes - Monday, July 12, 2010
Mr. David Dickerson is also leaving IA to follow God’s leading in a new chapter for his family.  His energy and positive spirit have been such a blessing to all of us, and we are very glad to have shared these past four years with him.  Taking his place as Business Manager is Mr. Lyle Litzenberger, who comes to us from the Theological Seminary at Andrews University, where he has served as Business Manager for the evangelism institute there.  Mr. Litzenberger brings a remarkable level of experience to IA, which includes serving as conference treasurer for several conferences, Business Manager for Great Lakes Adventist Academy, and Stewardship pastor at Pioneer Memorial Church on the campus of Andrews University.
